Welcoming interior with an info point

Colorful sofas (each in a different color), school benches and shelves full of books, are what makes this place visually welcoming. If we take into consideration posters with information about upcoming concerts in Zagreb, theatre plays, an info board and small ads board, then you realize that here you can also get informed and think about your possible list of things to do in Zagreb. One of the walls also has a sort of a school board with the weekly program of events at Booksa.

Lighting in the room is perfect for book reading. You can take one from the shelves and choose from english or croatian language books as well as magazines. On the right side of the room climbing a small staircase you arrive to an area dedicated to independent cultural scene in Croatia with all relevant materials about it saved and archived there.

Zagreb party style at Booksa

From all the bars in Zagreb this is the only one that is also a book club. It functions with a membership card but the price of it is symbolic. If you are not a regular guest for just having drinks here you probably donʹt need to become a member. A bar is a self service and on a daily basis you can take soft drinks unless there is a concert or an event of somekind happening, in which case alchoholic drinks jump into menu. Working hours extend according to an events schedule.

Events vary and they are diverse. Book readings and presentations of new publications and its authors, live concerts (usually local bends or singers), presentation of recent travels (done by travellers that want to share their stories) , poetry readings, literary workshops etc. Atmosphere is always friendly, so the odds are high that youʹll return to check something else out.

If you are a smoker and want to light up you cigarette youʹll have to go outside and mingle with other smokers since inside is a non smoking area. The room is quite small and would get foggy really fast so itʹs another plus for this wonderful spot.
